Contents
This policy mirrors the in-app legal screen at
/legal/privacy inside the QuoteMySmile mobile app. Any
change made here must also be reflected in
app/legal/privacy.tsx and vice versa.
Who we are
QuoteMySmile is an independent Australian marketplace operated by QuoteMySmile Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). We help patients receive indicative quotes from AHPRA-registered Australian dental practitioners ("dentists") for in-person clinical care.
What we collect
Account: name, mobile number, email.
Quote requests: photos you upload, symptoms you
describe, your GPS location, your radius, your health-fund details
(optional).
Bookings: chosen dentist, slot, status, deposit
amount, Stripe PaymentIntent id, last four digits of the card.
Audit: timestamps, IP, user agent on quote and
booking actions.
Why we collect it
To route your request to nearby AHPRA-registered dentists, to deliver indicative quotes to you, to help you book a consult, and to keep an immutable audit trail in case of complaint or regulator review. We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it.
Location
Location is used only when you submit a request. We do not track in the background. Location data linked to a request is deleted thirty days after the request closes.
Photos
Photos are stored in a private bucket. They are visible to you and to dentists matched to your request by AHPRA registration and geofence. Photos are deleted thirty days after the request closes unless you explicitly retain them.
Sharing
Photos and request details are shared only with AHPRA-registered dentists within your chosen radius. When you book, your name and contact details are released to the booked dentist. We do not share with insurers, marketers, or other patients.
Stripe processes payments under its own privacy terms. Resend handles transactional email. Expo Push delivers push notifications. Supabase (managed Postgres + storage on AWS Sydney) hosts our data.
Payments
Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see your card number. We retain the Stripe PaymentIntent id and last four digits of the card for tax, dispute, and chargeback purposes (7 years per ATO rules).
QuoteMySmile is free for patients. The deposit you pay at booking is fully refunded when you attend the consult. Our only revenue is a flat A$5 platform fee paid by the dentist on each attended booking — never billed to you, never deducted from your deposit.
Retention & deletion
Photos, location, symptom data: 30 days after the
request closes.
Booking records: 7 years (anonymised on account
deletion).
Audit logs: 2 years.
Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. The fastest path is in-app: Settings → Delete account. Otherwise email privacy@quotemysmile.com.au. Booking records are retained anonymised for legal and tax purposes.
